Welcome to my African Linguistics blog and thanks for visiting. I’ve been thinking for some time of doing a separate blog for African Linguistics and have finally taken the plunge. I live in Mali in West Africa and I collect news and information about African countries. Most of the information here will either have appeared in my main blog: Sociolingo’s Africa or will appear first here and be cross-posted. I think it is valuable though to separate off African Linguistics into a separate blog as the readers may be different to the main blog. It will also enable a different level of discussion to take place if readers so wish. For this blog I am collaborating with a linguist friend at Leiden University, I will continue to focus on Sociolinguistics and she will edit the Linguistics section.

I hope you find something here that interests you. I usually include short snippets from websites and newsletters in order to bring the attention of my readers to useful information on these sites. This is done on the basis of fair use and on a non-commercial basis. If you find information from your site on this blog and you object to the use of snippets from your website, please contact me and I will remove the item from the blog and stop using your website as a source.
